Floor Area Ratio(FAR)
The floor area ratio is also known as floor space ratio. It is the ratio between the total floor area available in the building to the size of the lot on which the building stands. A higher floor area ratio tends to indicate denser construction.
Floor area ratios vary for different property types such as manufacturing, residential, commercial, or agronomic.
The formulation of the Floor area ratio is done as follows: –
Floor Area Ratio = Total floor area / Gross lot area
